In a 2024 survey of the Fogera Plain published in 2026, N90 machines represented approximately 42.64% of surveyed milling machines, while NX110 represented 18.60%. Engelberg-type machines as a group represented roughly 75.97%.

This makes N90 particularly relevant for businesses serving the existing rice-milling market in and around Fogera.

Why is N90 important in Fogera?

The value of N90 is partly created by its installed base.

When many existing millers already operate a model, the market develops knowledge around:

  • used machines
  • spare parts
  • mechanic experience

Should an Ethiopian buyer still choose N90?

Possibly.

N90 can make sense when:

  • mechanics already understand the machine
  • parts can be supplied reliably
  • finished-rice quality requirements are moderate
  • simple operation is important
  • the buyer is replacing an existing N90

But another technology may be better when:

  • broken-rice losses matter significantly
  • premium rice quality is required
  • higher throughput is required
  • the owner wants a separate husking process
