Too much broken rice
Possible causes include:
- paddy moisture outside a suitable range
- cracked paddy
- excessive milling pressure
- worn milling components
- incorrect adjustment
- limitations of the single-stage milling process
Low output
Check:
- feed flow
- screen blockage
- belt slipping
- worn components
- motor performance
- machine adjustment
Poor husking
Check:
- milling chamber condition
- worn surfaces
- feeding rate
- paddy condition
- machine adjustment
Abnormal vibration
Possible causes include:
- loose mounting
- bearing damage
- shaft problems
- imbalance
- pulley or belt problems
Stop the machine before inspecting rotating components.
Abnormal noise
New mechanical noise can indicate:
- bearing wear
- loose hardware
- rotating-part contact
- damaged internal components
Do not continue operating a machine if the sound suggests mechanical contact or a serious rotating-component failure.
Why preventive maintenance matters
A Fogera survey recorded an average of approximately 6.92 breakdown incidents for surveyed N90 machines during 2023, although variation between machines was large.
This does not mean every N90 breaks seven times per year.
It does show that maintenance and wear-part management are commercially important in an aging installed base.
